Danish Shipping has set the target of carbon neutrality by 2050. This will require a cross-sectoral quantum leap when replacing traditional fuels with low and carbon neutral fuels. Within the next years, current energy-saving technology will not be enough to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions in absolute terms. Meanwhile, neither the transition to carbon neutrality nor minimizing the operational costs can be done without the right technology on board. Technology which caters to the transitional process, the shipping industry is facing.
MAN Energy Solutions is a key player, driving technological developments for a greener, carbon-neutral future. We are therefore very pleased that CEO Bjarne Foldager has agreed to share his perspectives on the connection between technology and alternative fuels.
