Carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM), CO2-taxes and CO2-quotas – workshop with EY and Danish Shipping
Danish Shipping in collaboration with EY has organized a brief workshop where you can get the latest update on regulation regarding CBAM, the future Danish CO2-tax which is implemented from 2025 and the new regulation regarding CO2-quotas which now includes navigation.
The EU CBAM will create additional cost for importers of specific emission-intensive product categories (cement, aluminium, iron and/or steel including some downstream products, hydrogen, fertilizers, and electricity generation) brought into the EU. This also applies to the embedded emissions that could be part of many products imported to the EU. The categories will possibly expand in future to include chemicals and polymers and other products.
The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is effective from 1 October 2023 with the first compliance and reporting obligations due by the end of January 2024. Such obligatory changes could incur the need for changes to procurement processes, supply chain reviews, etc.
EY will also outline the future framework regarding the Danish CO2-tax and the consequences of changes in the emission trading system.
The workshop will be held on 26 January from 09.00-09.45 via Teams.
Link will be forwarded to confirmed participants, prior to 26 January.
